Tag Archives: Re Blogging

No not some political or position of a company or town. It came out of the UnExpected arena we call the Internet. It is called the Liebster Award which only exists on the internet and given to bloggers by other bloggers. The earliest case of the award goes as far back as 2011. (NOW FINDING IT IS FROM GERMAN LANGUAGE0) Liebster in German means sweetest, kindest, nicest, dearest, beloved, lovely, kind, pleasant, valued, cute, endearing, and welcome.

The person who Nominated me is SHERYL of https://sherylslight.wordpress.com/

Yes the award does change your outlook and attitude in the long run. Unlike you Sherly, I didn’t wake up to the news….actual found out about it from a comment you made on one of my blog posts towards the end of the day. Here lately I have be caught up with the Election process working in the Mail In Ballot dept, starting the Early Election come next week. Also will be at the local precinct as a poll worker. So with just afew followers on my blog I will get back to nominating others once this election stuff if over and done.

Do want to answer Sherly’s questions she gave me…so here goes.~

  1. What is your favorite childhood memory? Hands down would have to be the times spent up at Lake Havasu (on the California side) My step father at the time had friends who invited us up and after awhile we would spend the weekends and vacations there (grant you, this would be a 5 hour trip from home to the lake).
  2. Why did you start blogging? I have tried my hand at it a few times in the past but just couldn’t seem to keep up due to other things in life ~mostly moving place to place And now I seem to be more settled and (like an old women) set in my ways….can do more and know how to continue
  3. Who is your favorite actor? I’m no longer having any bit of feeling the “LOVE” for them anymore….most are fake….BUT STILL HAVE SOME I really wish were still here. Fave actor who no longer is with us would be Johnny of Dirty Dancing~ Patrick Swayze
  4. What is your favorite holiday? Don’t really do much for holiday now. Kids are gone and on their own. Most can agree, the holidays are now so commercial and blend into one another you don’t know what is what. Now I don’t believe in the HALLOWEEN one as much. The only celebration of that day would have to do with my mother having her birthday that day.
  5. If you could go anywhere all expenses paid, where would you go? Well that one has already taken place. Last year my son and his wife presented me with my first Grand SON . I have other grandkids (all girls) So when he asked if I would like to come to German to spend Christmas with him, his wife and the three kids and he would pay to get me there and back.
  6. What is your favorite music? Been an OLDIES fan for years. Grew up with mostly the Bubble Gum music. Watched the Jackson Five before Michael went solo. The Osmonds before Donny became part of the group.
  7. What is your favorite food to eat? Tuna ~ you can do loads of different things with a can of tuna
  8. If you could travel to any place in the world, where would you go? SWEDEN ~ my mother’s parents are from Sweden. Would love to see the family country side.
  9. What positives have come out of the coronavirus for you? Well I am NOT sick, Don’t know anyone who actually had it. Tell you the truth, not much positives have come from this whole thing ….
  10. What would you tell your teenage self in a letter? You Will Make It To Old AGE
  11. If you could turn back time where would you go? The early mid 1970 during the period of getting out on my own and before mom died. Didn’t spend much time with her at the period due to the man she married (didn’t care for) and my learning my way around the world as an almost adult.

Well there you have it….actually could do some more post on some of these questions. I do promise to get back to the other part of this once we know the outcome of our future in NOV 2020

My Earliest Memories

WoW, this post brought back loads of memories. Going on 67 years of life for me the second month of 2021 ( if still here and kicking) Earliest memory would be the bee sting on the bottom of my foot with the little sucker being the size of my foot ~ I was 2 yrs old.

Just remember, at that age when a boy hits you He LIKES you, You answering back with revenge, is liking him as well. Mother’s advice back then. As for those saddle shoes…hated them to! BUT I had to have special soles on them due to my pigeon toe walk .

Was the only girl in Junior High that didn’t wear a bra…nothing there to hold up ….so my mom tells me. PE class was a tragic time for me.

What ever happen to the wholesome cartoon shown only one day of the week. Most are just violent and distasteful.

Sheryl's Light

I am going to be sixty-two this coming November. I get to join the 2020 COVID birthdays. Maybe I’ll get a super cool mask as a present…I’m kinda kidding! Depends on the mask. I just had a thought about I wonder if they will put facemasks in a time capsule? Back to turning a year older.

I was going through my emails coming across my young friend Sarah’s blog LifeIsBetterInRed where she blogged about sitting down at the table for meals with your family which brought me back to when I was growing up sparking off memories of my youth; of my earliest memories.

When you grow older certain memories are etched in stone while others fade away like the fog over the mountains burn off as the sun gets hotter. That’s why family photos are so important at least to me. So let’s take a glimpse into my young…

Seven (7) Rules of Life

….my take after reading this informative blog post. Sorry Raising Star, but this post took some actual deep diving into to answer back.

LET IT GO Not sure what I have to let go. Been married twice and divorced as many. Let those old relationships go …..along with the baggage . Just moved along.

Ignore what others may think of you Well this is an easy one. Never Gave a Flip what anyone thought of me. Get to know me and you will know the real true me.

Take time to heal Does anyone really heal. I have so many outside scars showing and countless ones mentally to still work through.

Stop Comparing Sure I would love to have what you have, the money , property, material things. But why? If I want what you have, it may take longer but I will get what I Want.

Remain Calm…it’s not that I don’t care, just go with the flow.

Depend on yourself always have said….Me Myself and I

Show those pearly whites (smile) ~ only in my case, it’s a toothless grin!

Then came the link of SELF CARE and 10 Habits from Forbes. Still working on the *KNOWING YOUR WORTH like working on making more time for myself. I try to get out of the apartment more often, if just to ride the bus up to the local market and back. Learning to say “NO” is still hard to do. I like to help, just being to helpful sometimes for my own good. I DON’T JUST EXSIT I AM NOW LIVING Was only there for everyone else. Now the kids a grown and on their own I find I have the free time I always wanted…but now not sure of how to deal with. *HAVING BETTER HEALTH such as eating healthier and staying away from the Emotional Eating. Not sure what that really means….I am always snacking…fruits mostly, like grapes…I can pop those suckers non stop!!

GRADITUDE is what we all need to have more of. I am so thankful for ~ My Life (with the grace of GOD), My Health, it is better than it was 20 years ago, and on that, I am very grateful for the youngest child who with the Almighty guiding of the LORD, got me to the hospital that fateful day. I thank God EVERY day for another day he gives me.

September Suicide Awareness and Prevention Month

Florida has the BAKER ACT

Spread Love & Not Hate

I have said it before, but I will say it again, life is anything but easy. Currently, we are under trying times and it has been painfully difficult for many months now. NO, COVID-19 has not gone away or anywhere close to it as the president claimed it would. With times being extremely difficult for every single person around the world, I think it is very important to bring some attention to something heartbreaking for many people. September is “Suicide Awareness and Prevention Month”

Suicide is not something that is discussed often because many people do not what they can or should say. Unfortunately, this is something that will impact families and friends long after the tragic loss of their loved ones. Those that are left behind will have to go through the rest of their lives wondering what they could have done differently…
