My name is Debbie, known as a daughter, mother, sister, aunt, grandma to name a few. Have many favorite thing to do and issues I am passionate about and advocate for.

Have lived on both sides of the country, born/raised in Southern California. Spent the first part of adult life in South Carolina. Retired to the Gulf side of Florida after being a snowbird for 20 plus years. Been Homeless and now Housed. Trying to quince this need to move again.

?QUESTION~ have you ever been (or are you now ) homeless. If you are no longer out on the streets, how were you able to get into housing?

With this blog I plan to tell the stories of my life, my thoughts of then and now. About the hobbies and activities I spend my time doing. Memories, dreams, wishes and wants. So many HOW TO’s and DYK’s. Books and product reviews. Just the common sense stuff.

Now that I have gone beyond my expiration date (interesting story on that one), in and out of hospitals, being poked and prod….Medical issues have become a lifestyle for me. Born with birth defects and how I live with the ones I still have, or gotten because of them. Major fixes as swell…Heart and intestinal surgery. I have a Strong faith in God, and without that, I wouldn’t be here!

Places I have lived, like the small town of Yorba Linda, Whittier, Anaheim. Schools were Rose Drive, YL JUNIOR (not middle) and Troy in Fullerton, Monta Vista in Whittier. There was Greenville, Columbia, in South Carolina where I was a Taxi Driver. Rebelled to Yuma Ariz and Kofa High.

Jobs I have had, clerk at a record store ( do believe was my shortest gig of all) did service work in restaurants and fast food joints. Driving a taxi was the longest gig I had.

Love doing the digging of my ancestors, only wished I had started before my parents and both sets of grandparents had died. Reading and Researching has been the best education I have taken on through out my life (even with a college degree being just a piece of paper ~that is a whole story in itself) Hobbies are collecting things, Sewing , crocheting.

I still have those interests today, along with my involvement with Low Income Housing and the local Housing board. How to budget or survive on monthly income of just at $700.oo Been a precinct worker and seen how the mail in ballots are dealt with.

Q and A is one of the favorite you tube videos I like watching. Now I am still on the fence on starting my own YT channel….you can still have Q and A here on a blog!

  • Why will I be blogging publicly, rather than keeping a personal journal? Never cared to doing the actual writing on paper. Writing with the help of some computer software has eased the idea more favorably for me.
  • What topics do you think you’ll write about? My life as it was, is and hope to be. My experiences, thoughts and ideal Oh, don’t mind if my opinion comes out most of the time. I am not like those Over Opinion Windbags that dominate over others. That is a lot to cover due to 67 years of life.
  • Who would you love to connect with via your blog? Like minded, people of my generation from the places I have been. or are in now and update me on the surroundings. Story tellers, critical Thinkers Bible believers and God Fearing Christians.
  • What do I hope to accomplish with this blog in the next year, 5 years, even 10 years (man, I will be 77 by then)!? With the Grace of God, to continue to educate myself, evolving, learning , growing and interacting constantly with others.

I may write off the cuff, brainstorm, do something serious, or off the rocker. Light or Dark. And learn what “Zero to Hero” means.
